Welcome to Nuex (the "App"), a nutrition tracking application developed by Muhammad Sher dil (Nuex). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your data is handled securely. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this policy carefully.

This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with the Google Play Developer Policy, specifically regarding User Data, Sensitive Information, and Data Deletion requirements.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide, personalize, and improve our services:

A. Personal and Account Information

  • Account Data: When you create an account using Google Sign-In or email/password, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture.
  • Authentication Data: We use Firebase Authentication to securely manage your login credentials.

B. Health and Fitness Data (Sensitive Information)

As a nutrition tracking app, the core functionality relies on your health data:

  • Nutrition Data: We collect information regarding your dietary intake, calories, macronutrients, and other related fitness metrics that you log in the App.
  • Health Connect (Android) / Apple Health (iOS): If you grant us explicit permission, we may read and write health and fitness data to Google Health Connect or Apple Health.

C. Device and App Data

  • Images/Photos: If you use the app to capture or upload images (e.g., uploading a profile picture or food photos), we collect those images.
  • Usage Data: We collect crash logs, diagnostics, and information about how you interact with the App to help us fix bugs and improve performance.

3. How We Use Your Information

We strictly use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the App's core functionality (e.g., tracking your nutrition and calculating health metrics).
  • To manage your account and authenticate users securely.
  • To securely sync and back up your data across your devices using Google Cloud Firestore.
  • To send you push notifications and reminders (only if you opt-in).
  • To analyze app performance and fix technical issues.
Note on Health Connect Data:

The use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use your Health Connect data for advertising, and we do not sell it to data brokers.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share your information with the following trusted third-party service providers required for the App's functionality:

  • Google LLC (Firebase & Google Cloud): We use Firebase for secure user authentication, Cloud Firestore for cloud database storage, and Crashlytics for monitoring app stability.
  • Health Platforms: Data is only shared with Google Health Connect or Apple Health if you explicitly enable the integration and grant the required permissions.

5. Data Security

We implement robust, industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Your data is also encrypted at rest on our secure cloud servers (Google Firebase).

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary to provide you with our services.

How to Request Data Deletion

You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. You can request data deletion through the following methods:

  • Within the App: Navigate to Settings > Account > Delete Account and confirm your choice. This will immediately and permanently delete your account and all associated data from our servers.
  • Via the Web: You can request account deletion without installing the App by contacting us directly at explorernutrition@gmail.com.

Once a deletion request is processed, all your personal and health data stored on our servers will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this data from our servers.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
